Hey Christine! Great review! Because we have the same type of skin (normal-to-dry), I really do value your opinions on products, especially ones that I'm looking into buying in the future. I am a MAC NC20, would you recommend this product to someone with my skin or lighter - or do you think it will look "dirty" and give us a shadowy effect like many darker highlights and blushes do? I do have some more questions about this gorgeous product especially on you and your personal preference. How is the finish on normal-to-dry skin? (I read that this is your skin type and it is mine too!) I usually find products similar to this one cling on my dry flakes. Also, have you tried the product with other foundation or bases? If yes, how well did it work with foundations other than 'Born This Way' by Too Faced? I also do not quite understand something. Are you wearing a highlighter or is that golden shine from the glow of the blush itself? I read you mention that it does have a rosier tone when blended out. It looks beautiful on you either way! I really enjoy your blog and love the way you describe products - these are just the things I, personally, would want to know that may not apply to other people. Thank you! She responded!

This isn’t really something I thought I would talk (/rant) about in my blog – but – I just have to.
WHO would have thought that the beauty community could turn to this drama filled reality show? – not me. Has anyone reading this heard about the feud between the infamous Jeffree Star and his “ex-friends” Manny MUA, Laura-Lee, Nikita Dragun and Gabriel Zamora? If not, then I can confirm you are definitely living under a rock. I read an article online which basically says: Gabriel Zamora (or Gabby), a YouTube “Beauty Guru”, took to Twitter and posted a picture that included a caption ‘slamming’ Jeffree Star (the post has since been deleted, sorry!). Update: The tweet says (word per word), “imagine stanning a racist”. After Jeffree responded, his ex-friends, including ‘Gabby’, started talking about Star’s past and continually slamming him for being insensitive toward other races. Here’s where the plot twist happens… Loyal fans of Jeffree went all the way back to his nemesis’ old tweets and found they THEY were being racist in some posts as well. This made Laura Lee, Gabriel Zamora and Manny MUA upload videos of them publicly apologising for their wrong doings. After this, we would all think that everything was fine, right? Well no, it only got worse. Laura Lee’s ‘apology video’ was so bad, people caught on that it was all just an act and made her lose over 500,000 subscribers in only a couple of days. This is what WASN’T mentioned in the article: First of all, Gabriel’s apology was accepted by Jeffree as is seemed so sincere and it looked like Gabby was extremely vulnerable in this situation. He even called out Manny MUA for being fake and manipulative! Which, honestly, to me – isn’t that surprising. BUT, this should have been mentioned in the article especially after talking about Gabriel’s apology. Since this incident, Laura Lee came back to YouTube after 3 weeks, being FLOODED by hate comments that say things such as “we never wanted you back” or “YouTube was a better place without you” – ouch. Now we are in October and the feud continues. Manny MUA has just recently dropped a two-part series titled “My Wakeup Call”, which mentions Jeffree Star’s name quite a few times. Which, also, Jeffree was not happy about. He actually, again, took to twitter slamming Manny MUA – but that’s for another post. Are you on Jeffree’s side or not? Honestly, I feel like all this drama in the beauty community is so unnecessary and needs to stop. Let me know your opinion. Twitter @makeupdiaries1 |
